    Christmas Breakfast Sausage Casserole

    Waking up on Christmas is the best day of the year for my family when I have this delicious casserole recipe served.

    INGREDIENTS

    1 pound ground pork sausage
    1 teaspoon mustard powder
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    4 eggs, beaten
    2 cups milk
    6 slices white bread, toasted and cut into cubes
    8 ounces mild Cheddar cheese, shredded

    DIRECTIONS

    • Cook crumbled sausage into a medium skillet set over medium heat. Drain once the sausage has been evenly browned.
    • Combine mustard powder, salt, eggs and milk into a medium bowl. Add the sausage, bread cubes and cheese. Mix until properly combined.
    • Transfer mixture in a 9×13 inch greased baking dish. Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.
    • To bake, cover dish and place it in a 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) preheated oven. Bake for about 60 minutes before removing the cover.
    • Bake for another 30 minutes.
    • Makes 8 servings
