This is inspired with Italian flavored ingredients that makes a delicious serving all the time.
INGREDIENTS
4 thick cut pork chops
salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 pound sweet Italian sausage
1 onion, slivered
1/4 pound mushrooms, sliced
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 cup dry red wine
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
DIRECTIONS
Prepare the oven to 375 degrees F settings.
Season chops with salt and pepper. Heat oil in a large frying pan and cook the chops until browned. Take the chops off the pan and reserve. Discard all the liquids from the pan and reserve about a tablespoon for later.
Discard the sausage casing and crumble the meat into the pan. Add the onions and mushrooms, stirring it with the sausage meat and cooking until slightly browned. Stir in the garlic and transfer the chops into a casserole dish.
Ladle the sausage mixture over the chops then add wine and tomato sauce. Season with Italian seasoning and cover with foil. Cook for about 45 minutes into the preheated oven.
