Here is a great recipe to serve as a main meal course or an appetizer. You can even enjoy it as a snack when friends come over.
INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 pounds ground pork sausage
1 medium head cabbage, shredded
1 small onion, chopped
1 tablespoon crushed red pepper
1 tablespoon white sugar
salt to taste
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup sour cream
1 (8 ounce) package pitas, halved
DIRECTIONS
Cook the pork sausage in a wok or skillet until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
Combine the shredded cabbage, onion, crushed red pepper, sugar, salt and water in a wok or skillet. Cook for about 20 minutes, steaming covered until tender. Stir from time to time.
Add the sausage into the cabbage mixture and add the sour cream. Combine thoroughly and use mixture to fill warmed pita bread. Serve.
