    Pork Sausages with Caramelized Onion Sauce

    This recipe serves sausages with a delicious cooked onion sauce.

    INGREDIENTS

    1/4 cup olive oil
    4 onions, thinly sliced
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon sugar
    1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
    1 cup chicken broth
    4 links pork sausage

    DIRECTIONS

    • In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Mix in the onions, cooking for about 10 minutes. Mix in the salt and sugar. Bring heat to medium-low and cook covered for about 20 minutes. Mix in flour and add broth. Stir well and cover loosely then cook for another 30 minutes.
    • Preheat oven broiler. Put the sausages into the broiling pan and cook until the skin has turned dark brown in color and the sausages have been cooked for 20 minutes.
    • Serve sausages with onion sauce poured on top.
